Does anyone know of a home phone, preferably digital, which either has a simple PIN to stop unauthorised use or one from which you can bar calls to mobiles or to certain numbers? I have phone obsessed teenagers in the house and find it frustrating that the features commonly found on mobiles are not readily available on home phones.

Answer:

Tell your teenagers to grow up. They need to show some restraint! Or, you can lock them in the basement.

Yep. There is a feature you can get. Call the phone company. I had a roommate that did not pay his share of the bill. I blocked the phone so you needed a pin to call out. I was able to block all calls out, let calls to just certain area coded, area codes plus first three diggets, or just to certain phone numbers if you did not have the code. I was also able to make multiple calling codes. It costed me me like 6 bucks a month when I had it. BUT, it stopped him from calling.

AT & T sells a feature called Call Control it locks the phone with a pin number. Once you set the pin only you can make the calls. It allows you to customize the blocks i.e. long distance block, cellular block, toll block etc. Hope this helps!

If not try to see how much an Unlimited Calling plan cost that way it wouldn’t matter how much they talked. You’ll be surprised sometomes this way is cheaper
